Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine involves the use of pharmacoactive plant extracts with a variety of effects. This includes liquid herbs (either invidually or as a mixed tonic), dry herbs for infusion, dried extracts in capsules or tablets, creams or topical applications. Herbs can have powerful effects and it is important to consult with a naturopath prior to taking any individual or mixed herbs.

PLEASE ADVISE YOUR NATUROPATH OF ANY ALLERGIES YOU MAY HAVE AS IT COULD IMPACT WHICH HERBS YOU ARE ABLE TO USE.

Nutritional Counselling

The foods you eat can have a profound impact on your health. By reviewing your diet and making small, manageable changes as needed, it is possible to improve your health and wellbeing.

Identifying and addressing deficiencies, improving food habits or just a nutritional 'check up' can all be part of your holistic treatment plan.

Psychological Counselling

Where the mind is strong and healthy, the body is better able to follow. Preparing for life changes, assistance coping with previous events or even managing day to day stress can all improve your mental and physical health.

Herbs and Supplements

The dispensary carries a range of liquid herbs to allow for creation of personalised herbal tonics. These are carefully selected for their attributes to maximise the positive effect of each herb individually and together in a mixture.

A small range of supplements is carried in the dispensary, but in most cases a script will be provided and specific supplements can then be purchased and shipped directly to your home or chosen address.

PLEASE NOTE ANY ALLERGIES YOU MAY HAVE AS IT COULD IMPACT WHICH HERBS OR SUPPLEMENTS YOU ARE ABLE TO USE.

Pathology and testing

Some testing is able to be done at the time of your appointment. This can include blood pressure, blood glucose testing, basic urinalysis, blood drop sampling or skin scrapings for microscopy (where indicated), as well as skin, tongue and iris examination. Some in-house microscopy investigations may incur an additional charge due to the complex nature of the investigations and follow up reporting.

IgG testing for food sensitivities can be done in-clinic in about an hour. After your blood sample is taken, you are welcome to return in an hour to discuss your results or return another day. Please note that a half hour appointment will need to be made for this.

Some testing can be ordered by your naturopath or GP, such as most blood tests, stool and urine analysis, or biopsies. In most cases, it is best to work with the GP in ordering these tests as many will have a Medicare rebate applicable.

Other tests can be ordered by your naturopath, but are sent to a laboratory for analysis, such as genetic testing or certain blood tests. These usually have a private fee attached which is payable by the patient either directly to the laboratory or through the requesting naturopath.
